Referrals

Patients require a doctors referral to see a specialists at Melton Specialist Clinic. A referral must be received prior to an appointment being arranged.

Majority of referrals are valid for 12 months, if you need to arrange for a follow-up appointment please check to see if your referral is current prior to your specialist appointment. You can do this by ringing our rooms, or the main rooms of the consulting specialist or contacting you referring doctor.

Waiting Times

Waiting times may vary per specialist. We endeavour to run on time however due to the nature of the consultations sometimes these are out of our control, we are all about providing a high standard of care, well-being and a holistic approach, in order to do so our specialists may run behind.

Fees

There are fees associated to seeing a specialist at Melton Specialist Clinic. Each of our specialists has the right to establish their own consultation fees.

We kindly request full payments on the day. We accept cash and EFTPOS, we do not accept AMEX or Diners Club.

Our visiting specialists have their own fee structures, please feel free to contact their rooms directly for more details.

Medicare Rebates

Melton Specialist Clinic is able to process your Medicare Rebate on the day of your consultation for some of our specialists. In order to do so your bank account details need to be registered with Medicare.

You can register or updated your details by visiting https://my.gov.au/LoginServices/main/login?execution=e1s1, calling 132 011 or visiting a Medicare Branch. (Nearest branch is Medicare Melton located at 533-555 High Street, Melton West Victoria 3337).

You must have a valid referral for us to process your Medicare rebate.

Confirmation of Appointment & Cancellation Policy

Appointments made through Melton Specialist Clinic will have an appointment confirmation letter sent out. The week of the appointment you will receive either a phone call or an SMS message to confirm your attendance.

Due to the demand for appointments, failure to confirm your appointment within 24 hours will result to this appointment being offered to another patient.

Failing to attend an appointment or not providing sufficient cancellation notice may incur a cancellation fee which requires to be settled before your next appointment.

Please note that some of the specialists have appointments managed through their own main rooms, therefore you will need to refer to their individual Appointment and Cancellation Policy.

Workcover and TAC patients

We accept Work Cover and TAC patients however pre-approval to see a specialist is required.
